Training of the regional Instructor Mapping and Updating Statistical Work Area of SP2020

Population Census (SP) 2020 is the 7th population census since Indonesia's independence. Since 2018, preparations for the SP2020 master framework have been made. One of the work units responsible for compiling and developing the BPS framework is the Directorate of Census Methodology Development and the BPS Survey is implementing the preparation and development of the parent framework. The complete, accurate, relevant and up-to-date master framework in the statistical work area (Wilkerstat) will be used as the basis for planning and carrying out BPS census and surveys. Wilkerstat consists of provinces, districts/cities, sub-districts, villages/kelurahan and census blocks (BS). The master framework made by BPS all this time consists of maps and BS contents. Along with the development of science and technology, the development of the parent framework continues. In principle, the main framework built is to meet the needs of BPS census and survey activities using various statistical methods.

In 2018, the SP2020 Preparation of Basic Maps and Wilkerstat Information Map has produced a basic map of SP2020 consisting of maps of villages / kelurahan and BS. In addition, ground check / ground truth was also conducted at 15,420 selected BS. In 2019, the base map will be used in the SP2020 Wilkerstat Load Mapping and Update activities. This basic map will be equipped with local environmental unit information (SLS). Implementation of Mapping and Updating Activities SP2020 Wilkerstat carried out in all villages in 514 districts/cities. This activity consists of two stages, namely the first stage of the Wilkerstat Load Mapping and Update activity, as well as the second phase of Map Processing and Wilkerstat cargo processing activities. Wilkerstat cargo documents processed are SP2020-RS and SP2020-RD. Then the second stage of activity is called Map Processing and RD.

In order for this Wilkerstat Mapping and Load activity to take place properly in accordance with the established standard operational procedure (SOP), human resources are needed to understand the stages of the activity as a whole well, so that this regional instructor training is needed. Training of the regional Instructor Mapping and Updating Statistical Work Area of SP2020 was held by the Statistics of Sumatera Utara Province (BPS) for 3 effective days from March 4 to 8, 2019 which were divided into 3 classes at Cambridge Hotel, Jl. S. Parman No. 217 Medan. The training was attended by 79 participants consisting of 67 participants from the Regency/City BPS and 12 participants from the NStatistics of Sumatera Utara Province (BPS).
