The signing of the BPS SUMUT-FEB USU Cooperation Agreement and the Inauguration of the Statistics Co

The Head of BPS North Sumatra Province and the Dean of USU's FEB signed a cooperation agreement in the Education, Research, Community Service Sector, Partnership and information exchange and knowledge transfer to improve Human Resources between the two institutions as well as Research and Internship Activities at BPS Sumatra Province North (04/03/2021). On the same occasion, the North Sumatra BPS also conducted the inauguration of the "Statistics Corner" as one of the outputs of this collaboration. This activity was also witnessed by the assistant deans, the functional ranks of USU's FEB lecturers and staff as well as the statistical and computer officers of BPS North Sumatra lecturers.
The presence of "Statistics Corner" in the USU FEB environment is expected to be a forum for providing quality statistical literacy for data users in the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra in accordance with one of BPS 'missions in realizing excellent service in the field of statistics for the realization of the National Statistical System. The statistics corner will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 09.00 s.d. 15.00 WIB with service officers originating from BPS North Sumatra. The range of services provided includes statistical dissemination activities through statistical discussions, statistical reference systems, statistical recommendations, and sharing of statistical insights / knowledge; forming a data-aware community among academics by conducting statistical workshops for students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra to improve understanding of the use of statistical data, especially strategic indicators produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics; Data Awareness Gathering in the form of regular discussions on statistics for students and lecturers at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of North Sumatra as a bridge of information between institutions.
