Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Head of the BPS of North Sumatra Province, Asim Saputra, became one of the speakers at the High Level Meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of North Sumatra Province which was held in the 10th Floor Hall of the Bank Sumut Building.
Asim Saputra presented several survey results conducted by BPS, one of which was regarding poverty data produced from the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas). The map of the percentage of poor people if overlaid spatially with satellite imagery at night can illustrate the light-darkness of the image with low-high poverty rates.
At the meeting, the Acting Governor of North Sumatra, A. Fatoni, also conveyed several agreements in order to maintain price stability and food availability in North Sumatra, especially ahead of Christmas and New Year. The agreements include increasing the intensity of efforts by the TPID and Food Task Force, strengthening farmer groups, to compiling a long-term inflation control roadmap, and the need for One Data for North Sumatra to formulate regional policies.
Also present were the Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for North Sumatra, I Gede Putu Wira Kusuma, the Chief of Police for North Sumatra, Inspector General of Police Whisnu Hermawan Februanto, mayors/regents throughout North Sumatra, heads of BUMN and BUMD, and other elements of the North Sumatra Forkopimda.
