On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Head of BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province, Asim Saputra, officially opened the Socialization of the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026) for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The SE2026 socialization event aimed to enhance the understanding and participation of UMKM actors in the upcoming 2026 Economic Census.
The 2026 Economic Census is designed to provide comprehensive information on the structure of the economy, business characteristics, as well as insights into the digital economy and green economy.
The event also featured a discussion on strategies to ensure the success of SE2026 implementation by involving external stakeholders. Among the contributors were Juniari Siahaan from the Department of Cooperatives and UMKMs of Sumatera Utara Province, and Timbas Prasad Ginting from GAPKI (Indonesian Palm Oil Association), Sumatera Utara Branch.
During the meeting, the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) program was also presented by Langgeng Setiawan from Sentra Insyaf Deli Serdang, Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
Sekolah Rakyat aims to provide free and quality education to children from underprivileged families. The program is intended to empower marginalized communities, enabling them to lead better lives and play a more active role in society—contributing to the realization of Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2025.
