September 26 is commemorated as National Statistics Day (HSN) with this year’s theme: Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, emphasized that the advancement of statistics in Indonesia cannot be separated from the contributions of all statisticians across the country. This includes tens of thousands of BPS employees throughout the nation working with full dedication, hundreds of thousands of statistical partners, respondents, as well as data users from government, academia, media, the private sector, and the general public who rely on statistics for decision-making.
The commemoration of HSN is not merely an annual ceremony, but also serves as a momentum to remind us of the importance of valid, reliable, and timely data in every stage of national development.
During the ceremony, it was also conveyed that BPS holds a highly strategic role, both in providing fundamental data and development indicators, as well as in supporting policies of both central and regional governments.
