Abstract

- In November 2017, all CPI cities in Sumatera Utara experienced inflation, namely Sibolga at 1.11 percent; Cultivation of 0.32 percent; Medan by 0.40 percent; and Padangsidimpuan at 0.64 percent. Thus, Sumatera Utara in November 2017 experienced inflation of 0.42 percent.
- November 2017, inflation inflation of 0.40 percent or an increase in index from 135.63 in October 2017 to 136.17 in November 2017. Inflation was due to price increases indicated by the rising index of all expenditure groups, ie groups foodstuffs of 1.40 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.03 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.11 percent; clothing group by 0.13 percent; health group by 0.33 percent; education, recreation and sports groups by 0.05 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services group by 0,02 percent.
- Major commodities contributing to inflation during November 2017 in Medan, including red pepper, onion, chicory, cayenne pepper, brick / tela stone, chicken eggs, and household fuels.
- From 23 CPI cities in Sumatera Island all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sibolga at 1.11 percent with CPI of 136.07 and the lowest occurring in Tanjung Pinang by 0.04 percent with CPI 129.18.
