Abstract

- Export value through loading port in Sumatera Utara in November 2017 decreased compared to October 2017, from US $ 790.41 million to US $ 786.99 million or decreased by 0.43 percent. However, compared to November 2016, Sumatera Utara exports increased by 8.75 percent.
- The largest decline in export value of
Sumatera Utara in November 2017 to October 2017 occurred in the chemical product category (HS 38) of US $ 22.43 million (-25.46%), followed by rubber and rubber goods (HS 40) class of US $ 19.49 million (-15.31%), and organic chemicals group (HS 29) of US $ 2.95 million (-6.54%).
- Export to the United States in November 2017 was the largest with US $ 116.81 million followed by China with US $ 100.70 million and India with US $ 43.46 million with contribution of 33.16 percent.
- According to the destination country group in November 2017, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US $ 256.64 million (32.61 percent).


- Import value through Sumatera Utara November 2017 based on CIF (cost, insurance & freight) of US $ 484.86 million, or up by 7.57 percent compared to October 2017 which reached US $ 450.75 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports increased by 50.20 percent.

- Import value in November 2017 compared to October 2017, consumer goods rose by 12.82 percent, capital goods increased by 7.68 percent, and raw material rose by 4.33 percent.

- In November 2017, the category of goods that experienced the greatest increase of import value of mineral fuel category (HS 27) was US $ 21.08 (38.31%), while the category of goods that experienced the greatest decline in import value were iron and steel (HS 72 ) of US $ 7.76 million (-37.84%).

- The import value of November 2017 from China was the largest at US $ 174.88 million with its role reaching 36.07 percent of total Sumatera Utara imports, followed by Singapore at US $ 63.90 million (13.18%) and Malaysia at US $ 39 , 76 million (8.20%).
