Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara through 3 (three) entrances in November 2017 reached 24,497 visits, an increase of 12.64 percent compared to those coming in October 2017 reaching 21,749 visits. Similarly, when compared to the same month of 2016, the number of foreign tourists in November 2017 increased 3.58 percent, from 23,650 visits in November 2016 to 24,497 visits.

• The period from January to November 2017, the number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara increased 14.06 percent compared to the same period in 2016, from 204,693 visits in 2016 to 233,483 visits in 2017.

• In November 2017, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the largest visitors with 12,729 visits or 51.96 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.

• The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in Sumatera Utara in November 2017 reached an average of 41.86 percent, down 5.38 points compared to October 2017 of 47.24 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in November 2017 was 1.37 days, down 1.13 points compared to October 2017.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during November 2017 reached 301,136 people, down 2.18 percent compared to October 2017 which reached 307,834 people.

• The number of inter-island sea passengers who departed in November 2017 was 2,095 people, down 8.27 percent compared to the previous month with 2,284 people.
