Abstract

In May 2018, NTP of North Sumatra Province (2012 = 100) was recorded at 98.88, up 0.15 percent compared to April 2018 at 98.73.
The increase in NTP in May 2018 was due to the increase of NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.92 percent, and NTP of the Livestock Subsector by 1.43 percent. While NTP Horticulture Sub-sector decreased by 0.74 percent, NTP Subsector of Smallholder Plantation fell by 0.77 percent, and NTP fisheries sub-sector decreased by 0.27 percent.
Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation / deflation. In May 2018, there was a rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.21 percent. This is due to the decline in Household consumption index, which is the foodstuff index of 0.80 percent. While the six indices of Household consumption group experienced an increase, ie index of finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.31 percent, housing group index by 0.12 percent, clothing index by 0.95 percent, health group index 0 , 20 percent, the education, recreation and sports group index by 0.20 percent, and the transportation and communication group index by 0.12 percent.
Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of North Sumatera Province in May 2018 was 107.78 or decreased 0.14 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
