Abstract

The number of foreign tourists visiting North Sumatera through 4 (four) entrances in April 2018 reached 18,740 visits, a decrease of 15.03 percent compared to those in March 2018 reaching 22,055 visits. When compared to the same month of 2017, the number of foreign tourists in April 2018 fell 12.39 percent, from 21,391 visits in April 2017 to 18,740 visits.
In April 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the largest visitors with 10,809 visits or 57.68 percent of total foreign tourists visiting North Sumatra.
The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in North Sumatera in April 2018 reached an average of 45.37 percent, a decrease of 1.12 points compared to March 2018 of 46.49 percent.
The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in April 2018 reached 1.24 days, down 0.08 points compared to March 2018.
The number of domestic passengers departing from North Sumatra through Kualanamu International Airport during April 2018 reached 324,330 people, up 3.78 percent compared to March 2018 which reached 312,516 people.
The number of inter-island sea passengers departing in April 2018 was 2,710 people, up 2.61 percent from 2,641 the previous month.
