Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in July 2018 reached 21,650 visits. An increase of 47.12 percent compared to those coming in June 2018 reached 14,716 visits. When compared with the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in July 2018 fell 2.43 percent, from 22,189 visits in July 2017 to 21,650 visits.

• In July 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 10,515 visits or 48.57 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting in Sumatera Utara.

• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star-rated hotels in North Sumatra in July 2018 reached an average of 45.34 percent, up 1.05 points compared to June 2018 at 44.29 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in July 2018 reached 1.47 days, up 0.13 points compared to June 2018.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara via Kualanamu International Airport during July 2018 reached 361,523 people, up 7.32 percent compared to June 2018 which reached 336,870 people.

• The number of inter-island (domestic) sea freight passengers departing in July 2018 was recorded at 12,001 people, down 36.93 percent compared to the previous month of 19,028 people.
