Abstract

  • In September 2018, Sumatera Utara Province's NTP (2012 = 100) was recorded at 97.98, up 0.32 percent compared to August 2018's NTP of 97.67.

  • The September 2018 NTP increase was due to an increase in the Food Crop Subsector NTP of 0.35 percent, the Horticulture Sub-sector NTP of 0.64 percent, the People's Plantation Plant Sub-sector NTP of 1.47 percent, and the fisheries subsector NTP of 0.96 percent. While the Livestock Subsector's NTP dropped by 1.78 percent.

  • Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect rural inflation / deflation. In September 2018, rural deflation occurred in North Sumatra by 0.21 percent. This is due to the decline in the Household consumption index, namely the foodstuffs group index by 0.60 percent. While the five indexes of the Household consumption group experienced an increase, namely the index of processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.11 percent, the index of the housing group by 0.06 percent, the clothing group index by 0.05 percent, the group health index by 0 , 13 percent, and the transportation and communication group index by 0.12 percent.

  • North Sumatra's Agricultural Household Business Exchange (NTUP) in September 2018 amounted to 106.24, down 0.02 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.

Development of Grain and Rice Prices in Milling, September 2018

  • During September 2018 it was conducted in 13 districts against 102 observations. Based on its composition, the number of observations of grain prices is still dominated by Harvest Dry Grain (GKP) as many as 71 observations (69.61%), followed by Low Quality Grain as many as 18 observations (17.65%) and the third is 13 Grain Dry Grain (GKG) observation (12.75%).

  • At the farmer level in September 2018, the highest price of Rp.6,690.00 per kg came from the quality of the GKG varieties of Ciherang in Deli Serdang Regency. While the lowest price of IDR 4,000 per kg comes from Low Quality Grain GL varieties in Langkat Regency.

  • At the milling level in September 2018, the highest price of Rp.6,700.00 per kg came from the quality of the GKG varieties of Ciherang in Deli Serdang Regency. While the lowest price worth IDR4,030.00 per kg comes from Low Quality Grain GL varieties in Langkat Regency.
