Farmers' Exchange Rate of Sumatera Utara Province in December 2018 amounted to 97.31

• As of December 2018, Sumatera Utara Province's NTP (2012 = 100) was recorded at 97.31 or down 0.34 percent compared to the November 2018 NTP, which amounted to 97.64.

• Decrease in NTP in December 2018 was caused by a decline in the Horticulture sub-sector NTP by 0.69 percent, and the NTP of the People's Plantation Plant sub-sector by 1.71 percent. While the NTP of Food Crop Subsector rose by 0.61 percent, Livestock sub-sector NTP rose by 0.61 percent, and Fisheries subsector NTP rose by 1.14 percent.

• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (SCE) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In December 2018, there was rural inflation in Sumatera Utara by 0.06 percent. This was due to a rise in the household consumption index, namely the foodstuffs group index by 0.05 percent, the housing group index by 0.14 percent, the clothing group index by 0.26 percent, the health group index by 0.23 percent, and the index transportation and communication group by 0.06 percent. While the index of processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco fell by 0.01 percent.

• The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Businesses (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province in December 2018 amounted to 105.47, down 0.51 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
