EXPORT
• The export value through loading ports in the Sumatera
Utara region in December 2018 has decreased compared to November 2018, namely from US $ 707.49 million to US $ 666.70 million or a decrease of 6.33 percent. When compared with December 2017, Sumatera
Utara exports decreased by 8.44 percent.
• The largest increase in Sumatera
Utara export value in December 2018 to November 2018 occurred in animal / vegetable fats and oils (HS 15) of US $ 11.08 million (4.32%) followed by coffee, tea, spices (HS 09) amounting to US $ 2.19 million (5.27%). While the biggest decline occurred in the rubber and rubber goods category (HS 40) of US $ 13.86 million (-14.93%), followed by various chemical products (HS 38) of US $ 6.43 million (-8.60%) .
• Exports to China in December 2018 were the largest, namely US $ 94.32 million, followed by the United States of US $ 85.23 million, and India at US $ 58.03 million with the contribution of all three reaching 35.85 percent.
• According to the group of export destination countries in December 2018, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) are the largest with a value of US $ 239.41 million (36.12 percent).
IMPORT
• The import value through Sumatera
Utara in December 2018 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) amounted to US $ 464.82 million, an increase of 10.75 percent compared to November 2018 which reached US $ 419.70 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 4.97 percent.
• Import value in December 2018 compared to November 2018, capital goods rose by 69.18 percent, consumer goods rose by 27.34 percent and raw / auxiliary materials fell by 0.22 percent.
• In December 2018, the class of goods experiencing the largest increase in import value were machinery / mechanical aircraft (HS 84) of US $ 58.84 million (123.20%), while the categories of goods experiencing the largest decline in import value were pulp / the rest of the food industry (HS 23) amounted to US $ 15.34 million (-52.18%).
• The import value in December 2018 from China was the largest, namely US $ 180.28 million with its role reaching 38.78 percent of the total imports of Sumatera
Utara, followed by Singapore at US $ 47.31 million (10.18%), and the United States at US $ 32.04 million (6.89%).
