• In February 2019, Sumatera Utara Province's NTP (2012 = 100) was recorded at 99.33 or up 0.77 percent compared to the January 2019 NTP which was equal to 98.57.
• The February 2019 NTP increase was caused by a rise of 0.02 percent in the Horticultural Sub-sector NTP, by 2.97 percent of the People's Plantation Plant Subsector's NTP, and 1.10 percent in the Fisheries Subsector NTP. While the Food Crop sub-sector NTP fell by 0.95 percent, and the livestock sub-sector NTP fell by 0.07 percent.
• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (SCE) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In February 2019, there was a deflation of rural areas in Sumatera Utara by 0.24 percent. This is due to a decrease in one household consumption index, namely the foodstuffs group index of 0.78 percent. While the index of processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco rose by 0.14 percent, the housing group index rose by 0.13 percent, the clothing group index rose by 0.17 percent, the health group index rose by 0.22 percent, the group index Education, Recreation, and Sports rose by 0.35 percent, and the transportation and communication group index rose by 0.26 percent.
• The exchange rate of Agricultural Household Businesses (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province in February 2019 was 106.86, up 0.48 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
