Abstract

• Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
• NTP is an indicator to determine the level of ability / purchasing power of rural farmers. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
• In September 2020, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 110.44 or an increase of 1.76 percent compared to the NTP in August 2020, which was 108.53.
• The increase in NTP in September 2020 was due to an increase in NTP in three sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Horticultural Crops sub-sector by 1.74 percent, NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector by 3.23 percent, and NTP in the Fisheries sub-sector by 0.48 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the Food Crops subsector decreased by 0.03 percent and the NTP of the Animal Husbandry subsector decreased by 0.22 percent.
• Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In September 2020, there was rural inflation in North Sumatra of 0.17 percent.
• The North Sumatra Province Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) September 2020 was 110.48 or an increase of 1.88 percent compared to NTUP the previous month.
