Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is the comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In April 2021, the NTP of North Sumatra Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 117.53 or an increase of 0.41 percent compared to the NTP in March2021, which was 117.05.
The increase in NTP in April 2021 was due to the increase in NTP in four sub-sectors, namely the NTP of the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.99 percent, NTP of the Horticulture sub-sector by 0.59 percent, NTP for the Animal Husbandry sub-sector by 1.33 percent, and NTP for the Fisheries sub-sector by 1.32 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP of the People's Plantation sub-sector experienced a decline of 0.08 percent. Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In April 2021, there was rural deflation in North Sumatra of 0.13 percent.
The Exchange Rate of Agricultural Household Enterprises (NTUP) of North Sumatra Province April 2021 amounted to 118.90 or an increase of 0.11 percent. compared to NTUP the previous month.
