Abstract

The number of workers based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2024 was 8,181 thousand people, an increase of 159 thousand people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.30 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The working population in August 2024 was 7,723 thousand people, an increase of 173 thousand people from August 2023. The business sectors that experienced the largest increase were Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair and Maintenance by 91 thousand people.
  • In August 2024, 3,294 thousand people (42.65 percent) worked in formal activities, up by 1.17 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The percentage of underemployed in August 2024 increased by 1.99 percentage points, while part-time workers decreased by 1.09 percentage points compared to August 2023.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 5.60 percent, down by 0.29 percentage points compared to August 2023.
