Abstract

  • The economy of North Sumatra in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter contracted by 0.99 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Construction Business Field by 8.01 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the deepest growth contraction of 13.62 percent.
  • The economy of North Sumatra in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2024 grew by 4.67 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field experienced the highest growth of 12.13 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 17.69 percent.
