Abstract

Data Collection on Integrated Food Crop Agricultural Statistics using Area Sampling Frame (ASF) method is a collaborative activity between BPSStatistics Indonesia (BPS) with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) which now has merged into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (Ministry of ATR/BPN), and the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). This activity has been implemented nationally since 2018 and included in a national project to support the achievement of food security as one of the national priorities in the context of improving food statistical data. The main objective of this activity is to obtain an objective, scientific, and modern method of collecting paddy harvested area involving the role of technology so that agricultural data, especially paddy production data collected becomes more accurate, faster, and timely. Executive Summary of Paddy Harvested Area and Production in Sumatera Utara 2021 provides information regarding the results of the 2021 ASF data collection for paddy. It also presents the preliminary figures of the paddy harvested area and production in January-April 2022 based on the results of the ASF Survey in January 2022. Hopefully this report can provide an overview of paddy harvested area and production data in accordance with field conditions. We hope that the paddy statistics obtained through the ASF method can provide significant benefits to the Indonesian people, especially as a basis for policy-making so that food security can be realized through rice selfsufficiency.
