Abstract

The role of micro and small-scale manufacturing enterprises (IMK) in the economy is significant, particularly in creating jobs and absorbing labor. IMKs harness community potential and demonstrate resilience in various economic conditions. The government has implemented several support programs, including incentive assistance and financing through the Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) program. These programs require accurate data to ensure that the assistance provided is well-targeted and supports the successful development of micro and small industries. The 2023 Micro and Small Industry Profile is a publication based on the results of the 2023 Annual Micro and Small Industry Survey (VIMK23). The statistical data presented in this publication provides an overview of the state of IMKs in North Sumatra. This includes data on the number of businesses/companies, workers, compensation for workers, expenses, income, capital, business challenges, services and business guidance, internet usage, and marketing distribution. The data is presented according to the 2020 Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields (KBLI) at the two-digit level and by district/city.
