REGSOSEK Coordination Meeting in Sumatera Utara Province

Socio-Economic Registration Data collection has been mandated to BPS-Statistics to be carried out in the range of October-November 2022. Regsosek is a data collection of the entire population which includes profiles and all socio-economic conditions ranging from demographic conditions, housing, the condition of a person's disability, asset ownership to geospatial information. The results of the regsosek will present the welfare rank of each resident in order to increase the accuracy of targeting government programs.

As an initial preparation, BPS-Statistics of Sumatera Utara Province held a Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) for the Initial Data Collection for Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) 2022 at the Grand City Hall Hotel Medan on 12-13 September 2022.

This activity was officially opened by the Governor of Sumatera Utara, Mr. Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Edi Rahmayadi and attended by the Main Inspector of BPS-Statistics, Mr. Drs Akhmad Jaelani M.Sc. The meeting participants were representatives from Sumatera Utar's Kajati, Pangdam I Bukit Barisan, Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Bappeda, Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of Sumatera Utara Province and all Regency/City BPS in Sumatera Utara.

The Governor of North Sumatra said that he would participate in the success of the 2022 Regsosek activities in North Sumatra Province. On the same occasion, he conveyed that the 2022 Regsosek data collection could be right on target so that the resulting data could develop North Sumatra Province in terms of poverty alleviation and the people would be more prosperous. Therefore, he advised BPS to work professionally in producing accurate and reliable data.
