Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the Head of the BPS of North Sumatra Province, Asim Saputra, attended the Announcement of the Winners and Presentation of the Best Scientific Papers (Papers) of North Sumatra Economic & Financial Insight (SEFI) organized by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of North Sumatra which took place at the JW Marriott Hotel Medan.
At the award ceremony, the Head of the OJK of North Sumatra Province, Khoirul Muttaqien, presented prizes to the finalists in the general category who were all employees of BPS throughout North Sumatra Province. The winners are:
1. First Place, Sri Indriyani Siregar (BPS of North Sumatra Province), Ashabul Kahfi Sipahutar (BPS of North Padang Lawas Regency), Juando Siallagan (BPS of Dairi Regency), with the title "Synergy of Financial Services and Digitalization as a Catalyst for the Progress of Leading Commodities in North Sumatra: Satellite Imagery and Econometric Analysis Approach".
2. Second Place, Josya Ryan Alexandro Purba (BPS South Nias Regency) and Amoreta Luvena Adamash (BPS South Nias Regency) with the title "Utilization of Machine Learning in Measuring the Effect of Financial Inclusion on Improving Community Welfare: Case Study of North Sumatra 2019-2023".
3. Third Place, Moreno Kay Boy Simanjuntak (BPS South Tapanuli Regency) and Hot Nauli Simamora (BPS South Tapanuli Regency) with the title "Does Financial Sector Development Foster Local Economic Growth? An Empirical Study in North Sumatra".
