On Friday, May 2, 2025, BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province released the Official Statistical News (BRS) for several strategic indicators.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in Sumatera Utara Province for April 2025 was recorded at 1.35 percent, while the year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate stood at 2.09 percent.

The export value of Sumatera Utara Province in March 2025 declined by 1.20 percent, whereas the import value rose significantly by 22.75 percent.

In the air transportation sector, the number of domestic passengers arriving at Kualanamu International Airport in March 2025 reached 193,379 people, marking an increase of 19.87 percent compared to February 2025, which recorded 161,330 passengers.

Meanwhile, in the tourism sector, the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in Sumatera Utara in March 2025 was recorded at 31.98 percent, a decrease of 7.66 points compared to February 2025, which stood at 39.64 percent.

In the agricultural sector, the Farmer’s Terms of Trade (NTP) in Sumatera Utara Province for April 2025 was recorded at 141.18, a decline of 3.17 percent compared to March 2025.
