Official Statistics News Release – November 2, 2026

BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province held an Official Statistics News Release (BRS) on Monday, November 2, 2026, at the 5th Floor Hall of the BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province Office. The event was presented by the Head of BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province, Asim Saputra, who delivered updates on several key indicators for Sumatera Utara.

The release reported that year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sumatera Utara reached 3.19 percent in October 2026. Meanwhile, the export value for January–September 2026 amounted to US$10,169.84 million, an increase of 14.19 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Farmers’ Terms of Trade (NTP) stood at 157.65 in October 2026, representing a decrease of 0.20 percent compared to the previous month. In the tourism sector, international tourist arrivals reached 25,558 visits in September 2026, while the number of domestic passengers arriving at Kualanamu International Airport totaled 151,124.

In the agricultural sector, the harvested area and production of rice in 2026 are estimated to have declined by 15.73 percent and 13.41 percent, respectively. In contrast, corn recorded an increase, with harvested area growing by 13.10 percent and production rising by 18.25 percent compared to 2025.
