Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in February 2018 reached 17,926 visits, an increase of 19.51 percent compared to those coming in January 2018 reaching 14,999 visits. Similarly, when compared to the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in February 2018 rose 3.58 percent, from 17,307 visits in February 2017 to 17,926 visits.
• In February 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 10,595 visits or 59.10 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.
• The star-rated room occupancy rate (TPK) of star-rated hotels in Sumatera Utara in February 2018 reached an average of 39.93 percent, down 6.64 points compared to January 2018 at 46.57 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in February 2018 was 1.51 days, up 0.04 points compared to January 2018.
• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during February 2018 reached 290,832 people, down 22.03 percent compared to January 2018 which reached 372,984 people.
• The number of inter-island sea passengers who departed in February 2018 was 3,061 people, down 78.12 percent compared to the previous month of 13,993.
