þ The export value through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in October 2018 has increased compared to September 2018, namely from US $ 734.29 million to US $ 817.60 million or an increase of 11.34 percent. When compared with October 2017, North Sumatra's exports increased by 3.47 percent.
þ The largest increase in Sumatera Utara's export value in October 2018 to September 2018 occurred in animal / vegetable oils and fats (HS 15) in the amount of US $ 41.95 million (14.79%) followed by fruit groups (HS 08) of US $ 6 , 09 million (36.13%), and tobacco (HS 24) amounting to US $ 3.83 million (15.59%).
þ Exports to China in October 2018 were the largest, namely US $ 90.13 million, followed by the United States of US $ 89.96 million, and Malaysia at US $ 70.32 million, with contributions of all three reaching 30.63 percent.
According to the group of export destination countries in October 2018, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US $ 269.88 million (33.01 percent).
IMPORT
þ The import value through Sumatera Utara in October 2018 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) amounted to US $ 522.15 million, an increase of 13.26 percent compared to September 2018 which reached US $ 461.02 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports increased by 15.87 percent.
impor Import value in October 2018 compared to September 2018, capital goods rose by 9.19 percent, raw / auxiliary materials rose by 19.26 percent, and consumer goods fell by 22.72 percent.
þ As of October 2018, the largest group of goods experiencing an increase in import value was machinery / electrical equipment (HS 85) of US $ 34.13 million (145.44%), while the class of goods experienced the largest decline in import value mechanical aircraft (HS 84) of US $ 16.44 million (-22.33%).
þ The import value in October 2018 from China was the largest, namely US $ 148.28 million, with a role reaching 28.40 percent of Sumatera Utara's total imports, followed by Singapore with US $ 52.03 million (9.96%), and Malaysia with US $ 47 , 56 million (9.11%).
