Abstract

EXPORT

• The value of exports through the port of loading in the Sumatera Utara region in July 2019 increased compared to June 2019, from US $ 526.49 million to US $ 707.40 million or an increase of 34.41 percent. When compared with July 2018, Sumatera Utara exports decreased by 8.51 percent.
• The increase in the value of Sumatera Utara exports in July 2019 to July 2019 occurred in the group of fats and oils of animal / vegetable (HS 15) of US $ 56.00 million (27.66%) followed by various chemical products (HS 38) of US $ 23.48 million (30.90%), and coffee, tea, spices (HS 09) class of US $ 15.49 million (25.93) There was no decrease in export value this month.
• Exports to the United States in July 2019 were the largest at US $ 102.18 million followed by China at US $ 72.66 million and India at US $ 66.15 million with the contribution of the three reaching 34.06 percent.
• According to the group of export destinations in July 2019, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US $ 241.84 million (34.18 percent).


IMPORT

• Import value through Sumatera Utaraa in July 2019 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) of US $ 438.40 million, or an increase of 71.04 percent compared to June 2019 which reached US $ 256.32 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 24.12 percent.
• Import value in July 2019 compared to June 2019, capital goods increased by 26.68 percent, consumption goods increased by 45.99 percent and raw / auxiliary materials increased by 80.92 percent.
• In July 2019, the group of goods that experienced the highest increase in import value was the waste / food industry residue (HS 23) of US $ 24.97 million (360.82%), followed by inorganic chemicals (HS 28) of US $ 24.94 million (424.48%). There was no class of goods that experienced a decline in the value of imports this month.
• July 2019 import value from China was the largest at US $ 129.16 million with a role of 29.46 percent of the total Sumatera Utara imports, followed by Singapore at US $ 41.44 million (9.45%), and Malaysia at US $ 36 , 84 million (8.40%).
