• The number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in December 2018 reached 21,769 visits, decreased by 4.26 percent compared to those in November 2018, reaching 22,737 visits. Similarly, when compared to the same month in 2017, the number of foreign tourists in December 2018 decreased by 24.00 percent, from 28,642 visits in December 2017 to 21,769 visits.
• For the period January-December 2018, the number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara decreased by 14.52 percent compared to the same period in 2017, from 270,792 visits in 2017 which fell to 231,465 visits in 2018.
• In December 2018, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 15,243 visits or 70.02 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.
• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Sumatera Utara in December 2018 reached an average of 43.96 percent, down 6.58 points compared to November 2018 of 50.54 percent.
• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in December 2018 reached 1.40 days, a decrease of 0.56 points compared to December 2017.
• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during December 2018 reached 257,567 people, down 5.52 percent compared to November 2018 which reached 27,602 people.
• The number of inter-island (domestic) sea transportation passengers departing in December 2018 was 9,600, up 141.51 percent compared to 3,975 people in the previous month.
