Abstract

EXPORT
• The value of exports through the port of loading in the Sumatera Utara region in November 2019 decreased compared to October 2019, from US $ 647.08 million to US $ 602.12 million or decreased by 6.95 percent. When compared to November 2018, Sumatera Utara exports decreased by 14.89 percent.
• The group of goods that experienced an increase in the value of Sumatera Utara's exports in November 2019 against October 2019 were the coffee, tea, spices group of US $ 6.05 million (22.43%). The decline in export value occurred in the animal / vegetable fats and oils group of US $ 22.06 million (-9.05%), followed by rubber and rubber goods by US $ 8.55 million (-9.49%) and fruits by US $ 5.23 million (-34.90%).
• Exports to China in November 2019 were the largest at US $ 91.15 million followed by the United States at US $ 79.73 million and India at US $ 57.29 million with the contribution of the three reaching 37.89 percent.
• According to the main export destination countries group in November 2019, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US $ 216.59 (35.97 percent).


IMPORT
• Import value through Sumatera Utara in November 2019 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) of US $ 404.87 million, or an increase of 20.15 percent compared to October 2019 which reached US $ 336.96 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 3.53 percent.
• Import value by category of use of goods in November 2019 compared to October 2019, capital goods rose by 6.06 percent, raw / auxiliary materials rose by 20.85 percent while consumption goods rose by 34.70 percent.
• In November 2019, the group of goods that experienced the highest increase in import value was mineral fuels of US $ 32.56 million (118.24%), followed by inorganic chemicals of US $ 13.38 million (84.35%). The categories of goods that experienced a decline in the value of imports were plastics and plastic goods by US $ 2.58 million (-11.37%) and electrical machinery / equipment by US $ 1.97 million (-11.19%).
• November 2019 import value from China was the largest at US $ 127.67 million with a contribution of 31.53 percent of the total Sumatera Utara imports, followed by Singapore at US $ 48.90 million (13.33%) and Malaysia at US $ 31, 96 million (7.90%).
