Abstract

The value of exports through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in January 2023 decreased compared to December 2022, namely from US$842.86 million to US$814.16 million or a decrease of 3.41 percent. When compared to January 2022, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by 14.87 percent
  • The group of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value in January 2023 compared to December 2022 was the category of various chemical products, which fell by US$14.04 million (-12.33%). Meanwhile, the category of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value was the dregs/waste of the food industry amounting to US$42.04 million (80.96%)
  • Exports to China in January 2023 were the largest at US$151.73 million, followed by India at US$92.02 million and the United States at US$80.13 million with the contribution of the three of them reaching 39.78 percent.
  • According to the main group of export destinations in January 2023, exports to the Asian region (excluding ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$331.59 million (40.73%).
