Analysis of Sumatera Utara Province Population Profile, Transitions, Implications, and Population Roles in Development

The 2020 Population Census (SP2020) is the seventh population census activity since it was first conducted in 1961. The results of the SP2020 data collection are disseminated and released in the form of publications that include reviews and studies supported by empirical data in the form of graphs, tables, and infographics. One form of dissemination released by the Central Bureau of Statistics of North Sumatra Province this year is the Analysis of the Population Profile of North Sumatra. This publication is presented in four main chapters, namely Population Profile, Child Profile, Productive Age Profile, and Elderly Population Profile.
Chapter I reviews population dynamics, opportunities and challenges, distribution, relations between population dynamics and inequality issues, as well as the implications of population dynamics on the environment. Chapter II reviews children in terms of demographic bonuses, structure and distribution of children, early childhood education, child health, child labor, and child marriage. Chapter III discusses the profile of the productive age, the transition to the world of work, and readiness to face the demographic bonus. Chapter IV examines the profile of the elderly population, the quality of life of the elderly population, as well as the dynamics of the elderly population during and after the demographic bonus.
