AMOR: FRUGAL LIVING

On Monday, April 28, 2025, BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province held an AMOR (Anak Medan mOnday Reaction) event with the theme Frugal Living.

Frugal living is a concept where individuals manage their finances with careful consideration and analysis, accompanied by strategies to achieve clear and planned financial goals for the future.

Frugal living has positive impacts, such as more stable finances, a more meaningful life, and contributions to environmental preservation. However, there are also negative effects, such as social pressure and the potential threat to life balance if one becomes overly focused on saving.

During the discussion session, Head of BPS-Statistics Sumatera Utara Province, Asim Saputra, shared insights on Emotional Intelligence. Signs of high Emotional Intelligence include: pausing before reacting, not needing to always be right, remaining calm under pressure, making others feel heard, being aware of emotional changes, acknowledging mistakes, accepting criticism, apologizing without reasons, celebrating others' victories, being kind in difficult times, setting respectful boundaries, and supporting without trying to fix.
