Abstract

EXPORT
• The export value through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in June 2019 has decreased compared to May 2019, ie from US $ 677.75 million to US $ 526.49 million or a decrease of 22.32 percent. When compared with June 2018, Sumatera Utara exports decreased by -4.26 percent.
• The decline in the value of exports in June 2019 against May 2019 occurred in the rubber and rubber goods category (HS 40) which fell by US $ 58.12 million (-58.94%) and animal / vegetable fats and oils (HS 15) fell by US $ 49.26 million (22.64%), while those experiencing an increase in export value occurred in various chemical products (HS 38) of US $ 35.15 million (47.85%) followed by organic chemicals (HS 29) of US $ 27.66 million (104.94%).
• Exports to China in June 2019 were the largest, namely US $ 101.07 million, followed by the United States at US $ 61.44 million and Japan at US $ 26.61 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 36.02 percent.
• According to the group of export destination countries in June 2019, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) are the largest with a value of US $ 183.93 million (34.93 percent).


IMPORT
• The import value through Sumatera Utara in June 2019 on the basis of CIF (cost, insurance & freight) amounted to US $ 256.32 million, down 37.63 percent compared to May 2019 which reached US $ 410.98 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports decreased by 34.30 percent.
• Import value in June 2019 compared to May 2019, capital goods fell by 46.92 percent, consumer goods fell by 35.68 percent while raw / auxiliary materials fell by 36.16 percent.
• In June 2019, the class of goods experiencing the largest decline in import value was pulp / leftovers from the food industry (HS 23) which fell by US $ 35.43 million (-83.66%) followed by mineral fuels (HS 27) which decreased by US $ 18, 79 million (-38.57%) while the category of goods experiencing the largest increase in import value was iron and steel (HS 72) of US $ 33.00 thousand (0.23%).
• The import value in June 2019 from China was the largest, namely US $ 66.76 million with its role reaching 26.05 percent of the total imports of Sumatera Utara, followed by Singapore at US $ 24.92 million (9.72%), and Thailand at US $ 20 , 90 million (8.15%).
