Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists (tourists) visiting Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in August 2019 reached 26,835 visits, an increase of 19.71 percent compared to those coming in July 2019 reaching 22,417 visits.

• In August 2019, the number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utaraincreased 11.61 percent compared to the same period in 2018, from 24,044 visits in 2018 to 26,835 visits in 2019

• In August 2019, tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 12,360 visits or 46.06 percent of the total tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.

• Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of starred hotels in Sumatera Utara in August 2019 reached an average of 47.88 percent, or decreased by 0.54 points compared to July 2019 of 48.42 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign and Indonesian guests at star-rated hotels in August 2019 reached 1.52 days, down 0.09 points compared to July 2019.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara via Kualanamu International Airport during August 2019 reached 225,363 people, or down 4.51 percent compared to July 2019 which reached 236,008 people.

• The number of passengers of inter-island sea transportation departing in August 2019 was recorded at 10,904 people, down 32.28 percent compared to the previous month of 16,102 people.
