Abstract

• The number of foreign tourists who visited in Sumatera Utara through 4 (four) entrances in May 2019 reached 16,250 visits, a decrease of 26.26 percent compared to those arriving in April 2019 reaching 22,037 visits.

• In May 2019, the number of foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara increased 9.29 percent compared to the same period in 2018, which was from 14,869 visits in 2018 which increased to 16,250 visits in 2019

• In May 2019, foreign tourists from Malaysia were the most visitors with 7,702 visits or 47.40 percent of total foreign tourists visiting Sumatera Utara.

• The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) of star hotels in Sumatera Utara in May 2019 reached an average of 40.45 percent, down 9.38 points compared to April 2019 of 49.83 percent.

• The average length of stay of foreign guests and Indonesian guests in star-rated hotels in May 2019 reached 1.78 days, down 0.41 points compared to April 2019.

• The number of domestic passengers departing from Sumatera Utara through Kualanamu International Airport during May 2019 reached 155,731 people, down 20.30 percent compared to April 2019 which reached 195,395 people.

• The number of inter-island (domestic) sea transportation passengers departing in May 2019 was recorded at 10,621 people, down 9.36 percent compared to the previous month's 11,718 people.
